Greetings, Economics Enthusiasts!
I am thrilled to announce the launch of Macro Watch on Substack, a new platform where I will be sharing the same high-quality content you’ve come to expect from Macro Watch, now with the added benefits of Substack’s user-friendly interface and community features.
Why Subscribe to Macro Watch on Substack?
For those who may not know me, my name is Richard Duncan. My career in the financial markets began in Hong Kong in 1986, and over the years, I’ve witnessed and learned from some of the most significant financial and economic events in history, including:
1. The 1987 Wall Street Crash
2. The 1997 Asia Crisis
3. The Nasdaq Bubble of the late 1990s
4. The 2008 Financial Crisis, which I predicted in my bestselling book, The Dollar Crisis: Causes, Consequences, Cures
5. The multi-trillion-dollar deployment of Quantitative Easing
6. The economic disruptions caused by the Covid pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine
7. The emerging technological revolution powered by Artificial Intelligence
These experiences have shaped my understanding of economic cycles and the forces driving the financial markets. At Macro Watch on Substack, I will share this knowledge with you, helping you navigate the complex world of economics with clarity and foresight.
What Can You Expect?
I launched Macro Watch in 2013. Since then, Macro Watch has published at least two videos per month explaining the most important developments in the global economy and the financial markets. CLICK HERE to see a complete list of the videos that have been published. And CLICK HERE to read the blogs that have been posted over the last 10 years.
From today, all future Macro Watch videos and blogs will be posted on Macro Watch on Substack, in addition to being posted on the Macro Watch website.
Two tiers are being offered.
Free Tier: Access to insightful blog posts that analyze current economic events, trends, and policy decisions. This is perfect for those who want to stay informed about the latest developments in the world of economics without committing to a subscription. If you have received this post as an email, then you have already been added to the Free Tier.
Paid Tier: For $250 a year, you will gain access to all blog posts and my exclusive video content, where I delve deeper into the intricacies of economic theories and their real-world applications. Each month, at least two new videos will be added. These videos, typically 15 to 30 minutes long and comprised of 20 to 50 slides and charts, are designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the macroeconomic landscape, equipping you with the knowledge to make informed decisions in your professional and personal financial pursuits.
Why Now?
The world is changing rapidly, and understanding these changes is more critical than ever. From the partial reversal of globalization to the advent of new technologies, we are witnessing shifts that will redefine our economic landscape. By subscribing to Macro Watch on Substack, you will stay ahead of these changes and understand how they impact the economy and financial markets.
A Personal Invitation
Having spent nearly 40 years studying economic history and working in various financial roles worldwide, I have developed a unique framework for understanding the forces driving our economy. This framework, which I have detailed in my books and will continue to expand upon on Substack, rejects outdated theories and embraces a dynamic approach to economic forecasting.
Join me on this journey to uncover how the economy really works. Subscribe to Macro Watch on Substack and gain access to my insights, analyses, and forecasts.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to engaging with you on this new platform and exploring the fascinating world of economics together.
Yes, Richard your voice is much needed today with the way we are going. Your economics knowledge is needed. As said earlier. most economists are owned and worthless mostly. You seem to be able to speak freely and with common sense.
Yes, read Doomberg (substack too), they are brilliant at telling a story, we all love stories, and then they tie it in with relevant topics of the day. They stay very pertinent. They also use research and facts as much as possible too.
I think you should try to appeal to people who are curious and care about what is going on in their country BUT just don't have the time to dig out facts and figures to understand todays topics? These people work a lot and can't spend 6-8 hours a day sifting through lies, BS, politics, influencers who are full of it, media that are owned, ect. to figure out the truth. Thats where you come in. Tell a little story, perk their interest, then give them answers or reasons why it's going down with real facts and figures, not dogma and BS. The truth.
Now your invaluable and I can't wait to read you when you send your stuff out!
Again, good luck and welcome to substack.
Welcome Richard. About time you got over here. I've been signed up with you for 6 or 7 years now. I'm not really a big lover of economists. I think most are full of academic crap and just mouth pieces for their owner / handlers. But you always come across as for-real and not owned. And you always have evidence and facts to back up what you say. Can be dry at times but hey no one said it was going to be easy right?
Seriously, good to see you here.
